Thank you so much for your dedication in spite of my inconsistency. There’s much I have to catch you up on:
First, I was invovled in my church’s annual Christmas production called Christmas Night of Praise. This year’s theme was called Christmas through the Generations. All of the children, men and women participated. My specific role was on the dance team. We did two dances, one of which I choreographed, which was one of the most scariest things I’ve done yet, lol. No matter how I felt, it came out a success! The whole production was a success. The late nights and long days proved worthwhile as there was a packed house–so packed that we had to open the overflow. Rehearsals for the show did take up most of my time, but there was something else that happened that I’m not sure I told you about yet.
*takes a deep breath*
This whole year I’ve been working on a novel that I had to rewrite twice due to hard drive failure and revise twice for editing purposes. However, in late August/early September, I was working on my 3rd revised re-write of the book when out of nowhere, my external hard drive just decided to give up the ghost. I only had it for two months! That was a blow to my stomach and my pride and had me question whether or not I was even cut out for this writing thing. In November, I decided to sit down and start writing, but when I tell you that such a fear came over me…I couldn’t do it. I didn’t do it, until December.
I had a talk with my Pastor who would always check to see how I’m coming along with my writing. After telling him all that went down he said, “The fact that you feel that fear everytime you sit down to write means that you’re supposed to be doing this.”
So I gave myself a writing challenge and extended it to a writer-friend of mine from college. The challenge? To write a story without any edits or revisions by the 21st of December, and I’m proud to say that I’ve completed that challenge.
I present to you: A Christmas Experiment
Now I will say that there were major spelling and grammar mistakes that I cleaned up for you guys…
…and there’s a catch.
Let me know if you find out what it is.
